LBC: What’s Next On Your Lolita Wishlist?

lbc

What’s next on my Lolita wishlist…? Well, this is a rather difficult question! My variety of interest is not just descriptive of the general plane; I also have a variety of Lolita styles that I am interested in. From sweet to gothic, I love them all! I have a list of Lolita dream dresses, but to be honest, I do not know if I will ever be able to claim them as my own. My dream dresses are “dream” dresses because they seem out-of-reach (and yes, I sometimes dream or day-dream about them). They seem unattainable due to their rarity or due to how expensive they are. (Sometimes, I find them for sale, but the sellers raise the prices… a lot. More than I can afford. And even if I could afford them, I would feel guilty paying that much money for one dress.)

In any case, I am not focusing my attention on one dream dress as my next target on my Lolita wishlist. I have a Lolita wishlist, but my dream dresses are not the only items on it. I also have what I call my “realistic” wishes: things that I want and can afford, and so, I add them to my wishlist. Some of these are not specific items, but desires for a type of item. Here are some examples of what I mean: a black loliable vest, a princess-sleeved blouse, a dress with a forest theme, a dress with a trump theme, a simple long-sleeved OP. As you can see, these items do not designate a brand, so I can fulfill my wishes for these items as long as I find something that fits the description, and  that discovered item also fits my budget and my tastes! So if I like the item, it’s a good deal, and it’s possible for me to purchase it, then I can check that thing off my list!

Now back to the Lolita Blog Carnival question: What’s Next On Your Lolita Wishlist? The next target on my lolita wish list is a trump-themed skirt. That has at least partial shirring (and that will hopefully fit me comfortably).

I have my eyes set on the Angelic Pretty Royal Cards skirt:

I spotted this skirt recently on Mbok, and so, I could not resist placing a bid on it. If I do not win the auction, I will still look for it. My favorite color way for AP’s Royal Cards Skirt is black, picture above. If I see a similar trump-themed skirt, even if it is not exactly the same, I will still be open to bidding on it or purchasing it (if it is within my budget). I just love the trump motif so much~! (And also, I really want a nice trump-themed skirt to wear with my trump-themed socks from the Metamorphose lucky pack!)

What is on your Lolita wishlist? Is there anything you are dying to purchase?

Review: Evil Live Heart Bags

[Review: Positive]
I purchased two of Evil Live’s heart bags when they were first released, since my local lolita community conducted a group order for them during the Christmas time discount special. At first, I was not sure if I wanted to buy the bags or not since I did not know what the quality would be like. In addition, I have never heard of “Evil Live” before. Once I decided to commit to the group order, I had to choose how many bags I wanted to purchase and which colorways to pick. This was a difficult decision because I did not want to buy two and end up disliking them, or on the other hand, buy just one and then regretting the choice if I love the bag.
There are four colors in this first-release series: BlackHolic, Misty Cream, Strawberry Sherbet Pink, and Merlot Wine.
After much internal debate, I chose to buy one bag in the wine colorway and one bag in the cream colorway. The wine bag has a shiny patent finish, and the cream bag has a matte finish. The official colorway names are “Merlot Wine” and “Misty Cream.” Aren’t the names cute? >w<
Overall, I am very happy with the bags’ colors and sizing, as well as construction quality. Each bag is very roomy and comes with interchangeable straps and handles. You can wear the bag as a backpack, use it as a purse with two handles or with one handle, or you can wear it like an over-the-shoulder bag. The bag also has a pocket on the outside and pockets on the inside. The bow on the outside of the bag feels sturdy and well-constructed.
Here are two exterior photos and two interior photos of the Merlot Wine bag:
The Misty Cream bag looks the same, construction-wise.

I think I like the matte finish better than the shiny finish! But both of the bags are so nice. ^-^ I tested the zippers, and they seem to be of high quality too. The zippers did not catch or get stuck at all.

Each bag also comes with these handle sets. Look at that cute handle with the little bows! ❤ So adorable! Also, I love the little heart details on the bags themselves… Those little accents make the bag even nicer.
The Evil Live manager even included a cute hand-written note on a postcard and some free gifts inside each of the bags!

Here is my final review for the Evil Live Heart Bags:

Overall: ☆☆☆☆☆ (I love these two bags so much! I can’t wait to actually use them. <3)

Ordering Process and Shipping: ☆☆☆ (N/A: Since I joined a group order, I was not the one to take on the actual ordering of the bags. The person running the group order placed the order in December. The shipping for the wine bag took a while due to a factory delay. Note that the bags were shipped to the group order leader, and then I picked up the bags in person, in February.)

Communication: ☆☆☆☆ (On the postcard, the Evil Live manager provided an email. When I emailed the manager, I received a quick reply! The manager is very sweet and polite.)

Packaging: ☆☆☆☆ (The bags were stuffed with Korean newspapers to help them hold their shape, and the straps/handles were all inside the bags as well. The bags were wrapped and taped in bubble wrap. The packaging was nice, but there were some slight dents on the bag’s surface from the mailing process. This is very minor though, and not a problem!)

Color: ☆☆☆☆☆ (The colors were true to the stock photos! I am pleased.)

Style: ☆☆☆☆☆ (These bags are so cute! I love the heart detailing.)

Construction: ☆☆☆☆☆ (I do not see any problems with the construction. I love how roomy these bags are!)

(☆ = Most negative/Not good at all, ☆☆ = Not that good, but okay ☆☆☆ = Neutral/No opinion/No answer, ☆☆☆☆ = Great, ☆☆☆☆☆ = Most positive/Fantastic!)

Feel free to ask me any questions!

Lolita Blog Carnival: 3 Prints in Your Favourite Colorway

lbc

This week’s prompt seems rather ambiguous. Am I supposed to select a favorite colorway and show three prints in this colorway? Or am I supposed to choose three prints to examine and choose my favorite colorway for each of these prints? For this week, I decided to go with the first interpretation of the prompt. If this prompt ever comes up again, I will choose the latter interpretation.

My favorite colorway, in general, is red! (This makes sense, since my favorite color is red…) I will choose one skirt, one JSK, and one OP to talk about in this response. All of them will be in red colorways, but different shades of red! Here are three prints I love in the color red:

☆ Bodyline’s Magical Cosmetics Skirt in Red

This print does not have a true red color, but a lovely rich wine color. I love the contrast of the ribbons and pearls in the print against the wine red backdrop. The sax blue, white, pink, and gold details in the print look aesthetically pleasing to me alongside the rich wine hue. Even though I dislike butterflies, I don’t mind the butterfly motif on this skirt’s print.

☆ AATP’s Vampire Requiem Corset JSK in Red

One of my favorite color combinations is red x black, and this dream dress of mine has a lovely red color in the background of the print… along with lovely black details (like the lace trim and the black in the print)! I am so in love with this Gothic Lolita dress. I hope that I will be able to attain this beautiful JSK someday.

☆ AP’s Candy Fun Fair OP in Red

Candy Fun Fair is such a fun print, but I think it looks most festive in its red colorway. The white bodice with the red bows is just too cute! I love the mini puffed sleeves of this OP, and the tiered skirt gives this dress a lovely shape. There is also cute candy-themed lace along the hem of this dress!

What is your favorite lolita colorway? Do you have a favorite print?
