Silly Sweet Shop: Jewelry

Silly Sweet Shop sent me an awesome package of sweet treats! 😀 Sweet wearable treats, I mean!~

They mailed it in a bubble mailer like this:

Inside, they left a sweet note on cute stationery, and they also included their business card! I love their business card design; it definitely shows off their style.

All their products were safely tucked away in the bubble wrap. When I ripped off the tape securing the bubble wrap and unfolded the package, I was pleasantly surprised to find adorable packaging! The two necklaces were in a drawstring pouch, and the bow and ring were in a cute plastic baggie that said “Handmade for you.” I’m saving this bag; it’s so cute!

In this package, I got a pink macaron necklace, a waffle bowl ice cream necklace, a pink drippy chocolate-and-sprinkles bow, and a bear drippy chocolate-and-sprinkles cookie ring. All of these items are super cute and have lovely detail! Both necklaces have a lobster clasp, which is my favorite type of clasp. I find it much easier to use than the spring ring clasp, and I always appreciate artisans who use the lobster clasp for their jewelry pieces.

I truly love ALL of these jewelry pieces! It is difficult to choose a favorite, but if I really had to choose, I would pick the waffle bowl ice cream necklace as my favorite piece. The detail in this sweets pendant is impeccable.

The waffle bowl looks realistic, the fudge looks perfectly chocolatey, and the cherry on top is an adorable touch. Red is my all-time favorite color, so I love seeing red cherries! The red really pops against the brown chocolate fudge.

For my styling photos, you may recognize the coordinates from this previous review. Since I am a full-time college student (who also works two part-time jobs), I’m extremely busy. I do not have much time to dress up anymore, and I definitely don’t have time for many photoshoots alongside my studies. I tried to work different pieces together when I did these outfits. I think the different elements go well together, thank goodness!

The detail on this bow is amazing! The chocolate actually does look drippy, and the entire bow is well-constructed.

The chocolate and sprinkles are not loose. This is a very cute bow that can be worn for OTT coordinates as well as casual wear!

I wore the bow and the waffle ice bowl ice cream necklace with the above coordinate, but I can also wear these cute items to spice up casual pieces of clothing, such as jeans and a t-shirt. These accessories would also be perfect additions to a fairy kei outfit!

I also want to talk about this adorable macaron necklace! As you may already know, I loveloveLOVE macarons!

I felt really cute when I wore this necklace! I want to start a macaron jewelry collection now… Macarons are delicious, but also look super cute as accessory motifs. ❤

And of course, I cannot leave out the adorable cookie ring:

This ring is a great size: it’s big enough to be easily noticeable, but it’s not too bulky. It’s very comfortable to wear, and the ring band is adjustable!

LBC: A Coord Inspired by Your Favorite Novel

This week on Lolita Blog Carnival, I will be sharing a coordinate inspired by my favorite novel! I love reading, so it’s very difficult for me to choose my favorite novel, but I will pick one. Hmm… I’ll pick something real horrorshow!~

What first comes to mind is A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess because I have read this novel numerous times, and it never ceases to entertain me. It is thought-provoking, clever, heart-wrenching, and beautifully written. Every time I read it, I notice something different. Perhaps this is because I am a different person each time I read it? The first time I read it, I was thirteen or fourteen. I read it several times after that, and I read it for class in my senior year of high school. I have fond memories of my final project for AP English; my research project was on Nadsat!

A Clockwork Orange by treizemacarons

I tried to emulate Alex’s manner of dress, using a white blouse and dress. I also chose more punk-looking shoes … hardcore shoes that look good for all the bezoomy fun that Alex and his droogs engage in. The cane with the skull head would be a stylish weapon that Alex could tolchock with! And of course, Alex’s signature bowler hat (sweetened up a bit with a pretty ribbon and bow). I also added a clockwork necklace and ring to the coordinate because I do think that the idea of a “clockwork orange” in the title is important in understanding the primary theme of the book. Even though Alex does not wear clockwork items, I wanted to add clockwork motifs into the coordinate as a window into the debate regarding human nature and human will.

Mohu Store: Crochet Flower Headband Review

Mohu Store sponsored this lovely crocheted flower headband for review. I love Mohu’s unique crocheted accessories, and this headband’s trio of cute little crocheted flowers caught my eye. Mohu shipped out the package from Canada, so it took a while for the package to arrive at my address, but it was a reasonable wait for international shipping. I have no complaints about the shipping!

The package can be seen above: no rips or tears. Even from the outside, you can tell that there is a box inside the package. Mohu Store has one of the cutest packagings I have ever seen, by the way! I love how they put everything into a little box tied with string and a cute doily detail. The Mohu Store tag on the string is an adorable touch! The box was functional as well as cute; it was secure and protected its contents well.

Seriously, perfect packaging! 5/5 stars. The headband was safely nestled inside the box along with two adorable Mohu Store stickers and a note from Lauren:

Thank you so much for the hand-written note, Lauren! ❤ I love personal notes like this one. The stickers are so cute too… >w< Now, let’s focus on the headband. The black headband itself is sturdy and the metal surface is smooth. The three crocheted flowers are securely attached to the headband, off-center. I checked the flowers, and it does not look like they will come off easily. I’m impressed by the quality of this headband!

The headband is also very comfortable to wear. I wore the headband all day (not just for taking the photos for this sponsorship). I wore the headband in the morning after washing my face, and I used it to keep my bangs out of my face when I applied my makeup. After taking photos, I wore the headband until I was ready to shower at night. The headband did not irritate me at all, and it did not have a slipping problem either.

I love the crocheted flower design… It is simple but elegant and beautiful. This headband can be used for dressier occasions as well as casual days; it is very versatile! The red and pink yarn flowers are pretty easy to match with outfits too.

I am wearing an Axes Femme dress and an offbrand cardigan I snagged from a thrift shop. It’s a simple coord, but I think it goes well with the cute yet elegant headband from Mohu.
