BAGS

Valentino Garavani Roman Shoulder Bag

Lambskin roman shoulder bag by Valentino Garavani, quilted design with tone-on-tone topstitching, iconic studs and tone-on-tone metal parts applied all-over, front swivel closure, interior flat pocket with zipper, two flat pockets open inside, removable sliding chain shoulder strap.

Made in: Italy

Color: Nero

Size and fit:

  • W 28 x H 16 x D 8 cm

My thoughts: A beautiful lambskin leather bag! I love the black metal studs. This all-black bag gives off punk-rock vibes. It would be perfectly coorded with Japanese punk styles as well! I can totally see this bag being paired with a Sex Pot Revenge skirt or a Putumayo dress. It would also look great more casually, with jeans and a sweater as we’re moving into crisp and cool autumn weather.

Versace Patent Bag in Red

Calfskin patent bag by Versace, shiny leather, contrasting embossed brand logo on the front, contrasting rigid chain handle, adjustable and removable shoulder strap in shiny leather, main compartment, welt pocket inside, contrasting press-stud brand logo inside.

Made in: Italy

Color: Claret+oro Versace

Size and fit:

  • W 16 x H 14,5 m x D 6,5 cm

My thoughts: My favorite color is red! Love the shiny patent leather of this bag. This bright lipstick red hue is gorgeous. The medusa logo is really cool too, and I think this bag would be a great statement piece for any outfit. Even if you don’t wear red, the pop of red color from this bag will make your outfit look more interesting. This will go well with black, white, or neutral colors. It would also look cool with pink! The chunky handle is very trendy.

Fendi Fendigraphy Bag

Calfskin fendigraphy bag by Fendi, smooth leather design, top zip fastening, single adjustable leather handle, iconic brand signature in antiqued brass embossed on the base, inside welt pocket.

Made in: Italy

Color: L.rose+ovibr+os

Size and fit:

  • W 27 x H 16 x D 9 cm

My thoughts: Love the crescent moon shape of this bag! I also like that the Fendi logo isn’t plastered all over this bag. Instead, FENDI is discreetly placed at the bottom of the bag with antiqued brass. It’s cool and unique! The handle is adjustable so you can make it smaller or larger as you like it. You can hold it in your hands as a handbag, or use it as a shoulder bag. The color is a fantastic neutral that will match many different outfits and colors. You can use this bag casually, or on more formal occasions.

SHOES

Bottega Veneta Black Padded Sandals

Padded sandals in black quilted lambskin. Rubber-injected leather outsole.
Heel height: 9cm

Composition: 100% Lambskin

Made in: Italy

Color: BLACK

My thoughts: I absolutely adore the design of these shoes. So sophisticated and elegant! I love the quilted lambskin. It reminds me of the Chanel classic flap bag. These high heel sandals will be lovely with a little black dress. You can even wear them to elevate a pair of jeans. Even though I don’t wear heels often, I am seriously snagging a pair of these sandals for myself to wear on special occasions or for a photoshoot. From all my fall picks in this post, this is the one I’m going to pick!

Prada Mary Jane Pumps

Calfskin mary jane pumps by prada, square toe on front, adjustable instep strap, geometric leather heel, embossed triangular applied plaque on front with contrasting signature, logo insole.
Composition: 100% % Calf Leather Bos Taurus, 100% % Calf Leather Bos Taurus

Made in: Italy

Color: Nero

My thoughts: Love the boxy shape of these mary jane shoes! The heel has a unique shape, and the pointed toe echoes the triangle shaped plaque of the Prada logo. The block heel style would make these high heeled pumps easier to wear. The adjustable strap would also keep your feet secure.

Gucci High Heel Printed Boots

Made in: Italy

Color: Beige/Nero

My thoughts: I love the printed snakeskin pattern on these trendy high heel boots! It looks like these boots will come up to your knees, and the contrasting black piece also has the etchings of faux snakeskin into the material. These are definitely eye-catching boots!

Out of all 6 of these fall picks, which one is your favorite? When you shop at Italist, be sure to use my coupon code “RF-220X-8D5254” for the chance to win $500 in store credit!

Review: Bodyline Order!

So this review is rather belated, but better late than never~!Β Bodyline had a free shipping promotion, and I could not resist placing an order. I did not order any lolita clothing, but I did order two pairs of shoes (a pair of white shoes and a pair of pink wedge boots) and a pair of wrist cuffs. I also ordered a cosplay costume since it was so cheap from Bodyline. Shipping was COMPLETELY FREE! No hidden fees.

Here is what the checkout looks like on the Bodyline website (in English):

Screen Shot 2014-03-30 at 2.35.41 AM

They split myΒ order into two packages, but they never notified me about this…Β so when I received the first package, I was concerned that they completely forgot about my boots. I emailed them, and they responded theΒ same day, telling me that the boots were mailed separately.

Timeline:

March 29, 2014 – Placed order with Bodyline, paid via PayPal, and received receipt from PayPal.

March 31, 2014 – Received an email saying that my package has been shipped, andΒ the email provided a tracking number.

April 19, 2014 – Received first package. Reviewed contents and emailed Bodyline asking why the pink boots were missing from the package. A few hours later, I received a response from Bodyline. Here is what they said: “In another bag” … not the most professional response (no greeting, no closing, no punctuation…) but at least it was a fast response.

April 22, 2014 – Received second package (the pink boots).

Bodyline Package 1

The first package, pictured above, contained everything but the pink boots. I was worried when I saw that they mailed everything in a thin package; the package already had a few rips and tears! The white mary-jane shoes were packed in a box, within the overall package, but the box was damaged in the shipping process. The shoes were notΒ damaged, but there was a small scuff. It isn’t too noticeable though. The cosplay came in a protective plastic wrap, and the wristcuffs were squished between the box and the cosplay, but everything was undamaged.

The second package contained the pink boots. The boots did not come with a shoebox.

Bodyline Package 2

The boots were wrapped in bubble-wrap though, so there were no major damages. The packaging was dirty, and it also had a strange smell, but there were no major rips.

Bodyline Pink Boots

I tried on the boots, and they are very true to size! I usually wear size 8.5 (American sizing), so I purchased these boots in size 24.5 (Japanese sizing). The length and width for my feet are fine, and the boots fit my calves as well. There are zippers on the boots too. There are some weird stains on the zippers, but these are not too big of a deal. You can see one of the stains in the bottom-center photo.

The construction for both pairs of shoes are sturdy, and I do not think these shoes will fall apart easily. The zippers on the boots are ratherΒ stiff, but this may be because they are brand new boots. The white mary-janes are also true to size.

This experience was not a completely positive one, but I would not hesitate to purchase from Bodyline again if there is another free shipping promotion. (I really love free shipping~!)

Here is my final review for my experience with Bodyline:

Overall:Β β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜† (Free shipping is one of my favorite things. International shipping is so pricey.)

Ordering Process and Shipping: β˜†β˜†β˜†Β (I am disappointed that Bodyline never told me the order would be split into two packages. )

Communication:Β β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜† (The response email was quick, even though it was an awkward 3-word email.)

Packaging:Β β˜†β˜† (The packaging was disappointing, but it was not terrible.)

Color:Β β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜† (The colors were true to the stock photos! No complaints here.)

Style:Β β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜† (I don’t have any complaints! The cosplay could have been better, but for the price, it was a good deal.)

Construction: β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜† (I do not see any problems with the constructionΒ right now, but I have not worn them much yet. The only item I have worn since this purchase are the white mary-janes. I only tried on the other items.)

(β˜† = Most negative/Not good at all,Β β˜†β˜† = Not that good, but okayΒ β˜†β˜†β˜† = Neutral/No opinion/No answer, β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜† = Great,Β β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜† = Most positive/Fantastic!)
