Spooky Spectacular: 2024 Halloween Goodies + More

Halloween is just around the corner, and it’s time to start planning your costume and stocking up on spooky treats. But what about those unique and unforgettable Halloween gifts and experiences that will make this year’s celebration truly special? Check out my recommendations — these are all great for gifting to friends, or simply to treat yourself. 😉

For the Horror Movie Enthusiast:

  • Vintage Horror Movie Posters: Add a touch of retro horror to your home with authentic or reproduction posters from classic films like “Frankenstein,” “The Shining,” and “Night of the Living Dead.”
  • Go to the cinema and watch a horror movie! Or, you can stream your favorites (or something new!) online. Check out the wide variety of horror movies on Amazon – you can watch some of my favorites like Barbarian (this is leaving Amazon Prime in 6 days so don’t miss it!!), Eden Lake, Suspiria (you can watch both the 1977 film and the 2018 film), and Crawl (this is a disaster film/creature feature which I don’t personally count as horror, but I know some people do!). Or if you plan on seeing Terrifier 3, you can watch Terrifier and Terrifier 2 first.
  • Horror movie stickers: This pack of 100 horror movie stickers has everyone from Jason to Jigsaw to Art the Clown!

For the Fashionista:

Use code 3PEARLS to get an additional discount on any of the products in this section.

  • Costumes and Cosplays: Whether you’re a seasoned cosplayer or if you just like to dress up during Halloween, don’t forget your costume! You can don a Demon Slayer cosplay, or a Halloween-themed maid costume. You can also dress up in an easy costume by adding on this bone mask or be a cute kitty with these black cat ears (these ears are also only $2.90 right now!). You can use my coupon code 3PEARLS to get an additional discount off your order.

For the Candy Lover:

  • Cute Candy Bowls: It’s the perfect time to get a cute Halloween-themed candy bowl! You can use this cat or pumpkin bowl for cookies, candy, and more.
  • Gourmet Halloween Candy: Indulge in premium Halloween candy from artisanal chocolatiers or gourmet candy makers, like this cute black cat chocolate.
  • Candy for Trick-or-Treaters or Parties: If you’re passing out candy to trick-or-treaters or hosting a Halloween party, don’t forget to buy Halloween candy in bulk!

With these Halloween goodies, you’re sure to have a spooktacular celebration filled with fun, fright, and unforgettable memories. Happy Halloween, everyone!

YesStyle: Photoshoot Haul

The haul!

Not everything in this YesStyle haul was used for a photoshoot, but two outfits were (and some may be used for shoots in the future) so I figured I’d call this the Photoshoot haul. On top of any sales going on at the moment, use the code “3PEARLS” to get an additional discount off your entire order! ^_^

Bunny Costume Set from this haul

Check out my past YesStyle hauls too:

Onto the reviews!

Tops
  • Wild Cat – Bunny Lingerie Costume Set – ★★★★☆ – My first costume purchase from YesStyle! I’ve always wanted to try wearing a bunny girl costume but never got around to it. With the cheap price of this costume, I figured it was a good time to try! It is high-quality and comes as a full set: bunny suit, ears on a headband, necktie, wrist cuffs, and thigh-high stockings are all included. The reason it’s 4 stars and not 5 stars is I don’t like how it buttons under the crotch. I assume they designed it this way (like a bodysuit) so it’s easy to go to the bathroom, but the buttons are uncomfortable.
  • FlorSwallow – Wings Detail Knee High Socks – ★★★★★ – Such cute socks!! I love the wings on these knee high socks.
  • 80PERCENT – Cherry Print Lace Trim Spaghetti Strap Mini Bodycon Dress – ★★★★☆ – This dress is super stretchy and really cute! It’s shorter than I expected though. It’s really a MINI dress. I haven’t worn it outside yet, just for a photoshoot. I will probably only wear this dress at home since it’s too short for my comfort level.
As you can see, the Cherry Print Dress is really short.

  • chuu – Pleated Mini Skirt – ★★★★★ – This skirt is so comfy and cute! I love pleated skirts. The size chart is accurate, which was a relief. The items I have from Chuu are super high quality.
  • Oranda – Lace-Up Hot Jeans (Shorts) – ★★★★☆ – These are cute and nice quality but run small. The size chart isn’t totally accurate. I had to suck in my belly to zip and button it up; if you buy this, I’d recommend you go up one size from what it says on the size chart if you want to be comfortable. I haven’t worn these yet because they’re too tight to wear comfortably. 😦

If you decide to shop at YesStyle, be sure to use my friend code “3PEARLS” to get an additional discount off your entire order! Happy shopping~!

[Flashback Friday] Big Apple Comic Con

Have you ever been to Big Apple Comic Con? It’s a New York City convention that was founded by Michael “Mike Carbo” Carbonaro back in 1995.

I can’t believe this con is this weekend! It’s happening so soon… I thought I had plenty of time but I’m still not sure what to cosplay and/or wear. I have great memories from this con last year…

Mangaka Toshio Maeda

From meeting Toshio Maeda to moderating a panel with Lua Stardust to watching the cosplay contest, Saturday was a busy but fun day!

The con is centrally location near Penn Station, so transportation is easy (trains, subways, etc.). You can also easily find public places outside to do photoshoots at, and there’s plenty of great food options in walking distance from the con.

Click here to see photos from my Saturday shoot last year! (I still need to upload the rest of the photos… my backlog is insane, oops.)

And at every con in NYC, there’s gotta be at least one Spider-Man cosplayer!

I have no idea who the Spider-Man cosplayer in the above picture was, but he was epic and I’m glad he agreed to a quick photo with me! Spider-Man is still one of my all-time fave Marvel characters (ever since I read the Amazing Spider-Man as a teenager!).

You may have noticed my [Flashback Fridays] tag… I’m thinking of starting a new Flashback Fridays series where I write flashbacks to events or memories of the past. Do you like to reminisce? I love taking photos because if I don’t have photographic proof, I wonder if things never happened and they were simple dreams or made up in my imagination…

Click here to view a throwback to my first time at BACC (back in 2017!). It’s a gothic lolita look featuring my first lolita dress ever (a really old Bodyline JSK I got in high school).

If you’ll be at BACC tomorrow or Sunday, come say hi!
