Amethyst Ways Fairies: Vampire Blood Necklace

Amethyst Ways Fairies is a wonderful shop with many lovely handmade items! Amethyst blesses all the items under a full moon and infuses them with Positive Magick. She sent me a cute necklace to review: the Vile of Vampire Blood necklace. She mailed it out in a 3M mailer:

Inside the mailer, I found a cute wrapped present with a sticker on it that read “UNIQUELY HANDMADE.” The tissue paper was easy to open.

The necklace itself came in an adorable black box with this vampire icon on it! You can tell right away that the item inside is somehow vampire related… Mmm, vampire blood.

And now, without further ado, the box opening:

Nestled inside this tissue-paper-lined box was the necklace! The pendant is a vial of (fake) vampire blood, and it comes with a nice black cord with a clasp. The bottom of the box has an image of a vial. How cute!

No complaints here! Shipping was prompt and the product was undamaged. As you can see above, the pendant is very detailed. There’s even a sticker on the surface with a bar code and text noting that the blood sample is A positive. The vial is filled with red liquid (and glitter!). I really love Amethyst Ways Fairies‘s work.

TeaCupCastle: Stormborn Claw Necklace

Today I am going to review a lovely necklace for you all: the Stormborn Claw Necklace from the Etsy shop TeaCupCastle. TeaCupCastle has a variety of handmade jewelry using vintage findings.

The Stormborn Claw Necklace is inspired by Daenerys Targaryen (one of my favorite characters from Game of Thrones!!). If you love Game of Thrones, you should check out TeaCupCastle’s other Game of Thrones-inspired jewelry, like the Night’s Watch Ring and the Lannister Lion Crest Pin.

Now, onto the review!

TeaCupCastle mailed out the package in a bubble mailer. The mailer arrived completely in-tact, with no tears at all. Inside the mailer was a coupon, a business card, and a box sealed with cute tape. The necklace was safely nestled inside the box on a fluffy bed. The pendant was even tucked inside a small plastic bag for added protection!

I love this necklace and hope to wear it many times in the future.

The pendant orb of this necklace is a gorgeous deep purple that seems to change color slightly, depending on the lighting. Sometimes, it looks so dark that it is almost black, and other times, it looks like a vibrant shade of purple. Upon close observation, I noticed bits of green that slithers its way around the orb. The green is not too noticeable from a distance, but up close, it looks really cool. It reminds me of a mystical planet or (dare I say it…?) a dragon egg! I can just imagine the orb cracking along the green veins.

Final verdict on this necklace: ☆☆☆☆☆ out of ☆☆☆☆☆ ! I have no complaints whatsoever. The necklace is easy to wear, everything is well-constructed and sturdy, and it’s truly beautiful. This necklace works wonderfully for lolita fashion, but it would also be easy to incorporate into other fashion styles and even casual wear. The necklace would really stand out against a plain t-shirt, for example!

The Wonderful World of MBOK

You can find some great deals on Mbok! Mbok is a Japanese online auction site that has a wide variety of items. There are lots of great J-Fashion (including lolita!) items there: you can find dresses, shirts, skirts, pants, jewelry, hair accessories, bags, novelties, and more. If you are not a resident of Japan, you need to use a shopping service to bid on Mbok items. The shopping service I used is Japonica, but there are other shopping services out there.

Searching for specific items on Mbok can be time-consuming, since you have to scroll through different pages, but it is pretty easy to find good deals on brand (and offbrand) items.

I would recommend using the Google Translate extension if you have the Google Chrome web browser. If you do not have Chrome, copying and pasting the Mbok URL into Google Translate works too. Google Translate is not perfect, but it works well enough to help with Mbok navigation.

Check out Mbok’s Alternative/Punk section for lots of lolita items! This is where you will find Angelic Pretty, Baby the Stars Shine Bright, h.NAOTO, Emily Temple Cute, Jane Marple, and more. This section houses lolita, gothic, punk, and other alternative styles.

You can also search for items from a specific brand on Mbok by looking at the brand category. Here are some great links to lolita brand items on Mbok:

Axes Femme – This brand has great cutsews and cute blouses! There are some nice skirts, JSKs, and OPs too (but not all items will accommodate a petticoat). An Axes Femme item was one of my first Mbok purchases!

Liz Lisa – This is a popular Gyaru brand that has some loliable blouses, cardigans, and cutsews.

Tralala – I’m not too familiar with Tralala, but it is one of Liz Lisa’s sister brands. You may be able to find loliable stuff here too!

Jesus Diamante – I’m not too familiar with this brand either, but it’s a popular Hime Gyaru brand and I’ve seen lots of cute loliable coats from them! They also have really cute parkas/sweatshirts.

If you are interested in Gyaru fashion, check out the whole Mbok 109/GAL section. I have not extensively explored this section yet, but there are tons of brands and lots of cute and cool clothes!
