Geo: Princess Mimi Almond Brown Lenses

The website www.geocolouredlenses.com sponsored the Geo Princess Mimi Almond Brown lenses for me to review. These are brown lenses that last up to a year with proper care. The diameter is 14.5 mm, the base curve is 8.7, and the water content is 40±2%. These lenses come in prescriptions 0.00 ∼ -8.00.

Here is the package I received:

The contents of the package were neatly in one place, sealed in a plastic bag.

The Geo lenses came in individual vials, with the prescriptions on top of the caps. The lenses also came with a complimentary lens case, marked with “L” and “R” for “Left” and “Right.” There was also a business card sized flyer with information about Geo Coloured Lenses’ social media, and a sheet with instructions for soft contact lens care.

Below, you can see a set of three photos. The top one shows one eye with no lens or makeup, but the other eye has lenses and makeup. As you can see, The lenses and makeup make my eyes look a lot bigger! In the middle photo, both of my eyes have makeup on, but only one eye is wearing a circle lens. You can see the difference that the circle lens makes! The bottom photo is the complete look.

Circle lenses are a great cosmetic accessory that can add a lot to your look! And since many of them come in prescriptions, you can use them instead of wearing glasses. Just be sure to take proper care of your lenses and remember to avoid keeping them in your eyes for too long. And never sleep in your lenses!

Overall: ☆☆☆☆☆

Packaging: ☆☆☆☆☆ The packaging was great; I have no complaints.

Style: ☆☆☆☆☆ I love the design of these lenses: there is a black limbal ring that surrounds sheer light brown color! The lenses give dramatic enlargement but are in a natural color, so these lenses would work for a variety of makeup looks.

Color: ☆☆☆☆ I do wish the color was more opaque so the light brown shows better on my dark eyes, but the color still looks lighter than my natural eye color.

Comfort: ☆☆☆☆☆ These are very comfortable! I have only worn them once, but I definitely want to wear them more often. I could hardly feel them in my eyes when I wore them, and I kept them in for several hours.

(☆ = Most negative/Not good at all, ☆☆ = Not that good, but okay ☆☆☆ = Neutral/No opinion/No answer, ☆☆☆☆ = Great, ☆☆☆☆☆ = Most positive/Fantastic!)

Here are some facts about the Geo Coloured Lenses webstore:

1.    Geo Coloured Lenses sells circle lenses from GEO Medical, which is a safe Korean circle lens brand. It is the only brand of circle lenses currently approved by the U S Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) and it has also gained approval from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the Conformité Européenne (CE) certification.

2.    All products from Geo Coloured Lenses are genuine. Each lens vial comes with a sticker with a unique serial code and you can verify the products’  authenticity on the GEO Anti-fake website.

3.    Most of the circle lenses from Geo Coloured Lenses are available with prescription.

[Review] Alicorn Dream: Kawaii Accessories

Alicorn Dream sponsored a package of kawaii hair goodies~! First, I’ll go over the packaging. Here is the box I received:

DSC_0127.jpg

I thought the little decorative touches were adorable! It was around Christmastime, so Ariella (owner of Alicorn Dream) added a red bow and a little note to the box.

Inside the box, everything was packed in a cute pouch, with a layer of bubble wrap on top.

The pouch would be great as a reusable bag to store little trinkets!

Isn’t it so cute?

Most of the items arrived without any issues. I didn’t know what I was receiving, so the contents of the box were total surprises!

Here is a list of the items I got:

DSC_0137

There is a string of faux pearls that fell off from something. I am not sure what it fell off from, but it’s not a big deal since I didn’t notice any of the pieces were broken.

These handmade items are all really cute, and I’m pleased with them. They’re pretty easy to style as well! I do have a suggestion for Alicorn Dream: in the future, double check your products before sending them out! I found some strings of glue on some of the items that I had to peel off. It would be great to remove any stray glue pieces before sending out your products to ensure a distraction-free reception.

Now, onto the product styling!

My favorite item in this set was this hair corsage! (I’m biased though; red is my favorite color.)

I styled it in a lolita coordinate featuring my favorite Angelic Pretty OP, Candy Fun Fair!

You can check out the coordinate rundown here.

I styled this headband with the dress I got from FashionKawaii. The flower (with the pink and green color accents) matches the dress perfectly! The headband is also comfortable to wear; it’s not too tight around my head (even with a wig on) like some headbands.

Above, you can see this adorable hair accessory. It’s on a French clip, and it’s easy to clip into your wig or your real hair. I love the style of the faux rose; it almost looks like a mini crown, especially with the way it sits on the clip. Around the edges of the clip are little bows, hearts, and flowers. There’s a string of pearls on one side as well! This hair accessory is both elegant and whimsical.

I borrowed this pink cutsew from my friend Grace, so I didn’t want to pin the brooch to it since the cutsew does not belong to me. However, this brooch would be super cute with this pastel cutsew! It would also go well with a more muted or dark color scheme, such as beige and white or black and white. I believe that this brooch is really versatile!

The above barrette is also a whimsical and versatile piece that has lots of cute tiny details. I love the little flowers and bow and the blue ribbon background for them. This barrette would go well with many outfits, both casual ones and over-the-top ones.

Thank you for reading! Check out this Facebook album for more photos of the pieces from Alicorn Dream. I may add more photos to this Facebook album soon, so stay tuned! If you have any questions about these accessories, do not hesitate to ask me or Alicorn Dream. The artist behind Alicorn Dream is super nice, and she also responds in a timely manner. I wish you all a great week!

[LBC] What Do You Like Best About Your Wardrobe

lbc

This is an easy question to answer! The thing I love best is the variety of substyles I can pull off with my wardrobe.

heart

Coord for my first lolita meetup!

At first, when I discovered lolita fashion, I fell in love with the gothic substyle. However, I had difficulty finding gothic lolita pieces that I could afford. I found cute secondhand sweet lolita at affordable prices (Bodyline, handmade, taobao, and eventually, affordable secondhand brand too)… And unexpectedly, I got into sweet lolita. It was too tempting to pass up the great deals (especially the adorable pieces I snagged from Mbok!). And I have always loved sweets… so sweets-themed things stole my heart. Over time, I was able to acquire some pieces that worked well for gothic lolita, and I did ponder leaving sweet. I thought about it…  If I sold off my sweet lolita pieces, then I would have more money to spend on gothic lolita, right? But… I didn’t want to let go of sweet. I might leave it eventually, but for now, I want to keep sweet lolita as part of my wardrobe. And honestly: is there any reason why I should choose one substyle over another? Nope!

My wardrobe is kind of all over the place, which can be annoying at times (like when I’m looking for a certain barrette or necklace but can’t find it because there’s too many all in the same box…). All in all though, I am happy to have the variety of styles in my wardrobe. I can wear different lolita styles and have fun dressing them up (OTT) or down (casual).

Feel free to check out the slideshow below for examples of my current wardrobe!
