Top 3 Wishlist Items

Image

This week’s prompt is: Top 3 Wishlist Items.

It’s hard to choose just three specific items, but I will try my best! I will post 2 dream dresses as part of my Wishlist, and 1 item that I really want to own as the third Wishlist Item.

Item 1: La Bibliothèque OP – Juliette et Justine

Image

I fell in love with this dress when I first glimpsed it online a few months ago. As an avid reader and lover of books, I adore the book print! It looks so unique and beautiful! In addition to the amazing print, I love the way this dress is cut. The fluttery sleeves look so elegant and sophisticated, and the entire dress looks very figure-flattering. The dress seems very versatile and easy to coordinate as well.

There are two colorways: Antique Black and Antique Orange. I love both of these colorways, but if I had to choose specifically one colorway, I would go with the Antique Black dress. I would be thrilled to have either of these dresses though! I would also be extremely happy if someone let me try it on if they own this OP. ❤ I would also be delighted to see this dress in person! I’ve only seen this dress online, so I’ve never seen it in real life. It would be amazing to see this dress and touch the fabric. I’m sure it looks even more stunning in person!

Item 2: Vampire Requiem Corset JSK in Red – Alice and the Pirates

Image

I adore the print on this JSK. I stare at this dress a lot; I’m not going to lie. I’m always happy to see photos online of this dress, and I love seeing how people coordinate this dress into their Lolita outfits.

I love how detailed the print is and how it’s like you are wearing a story on your dress! I love how the bodice of the JSK has a detachable bow on the front so you can wear the bow on the chest (as pictured), or on the waist, or adjust it to be lying crooked on the bodice for a more asymmetrical look… And you might be able to turn the bow into a headbow as well, or some other sort of hair accessory… the possibilities go on and on! I would love this dress in any colorway, but my favorite colorway is the Red one.

(I may be biased though… since red is my favorite color… But in any case, I do think the red colorway looks the best with the print. And the Red colorway is the one I want the most.)

Item 3: Rococo Umbrella – Alice and the Pirates

Image

I have always wanted a parasol or umbrella that fit into the Lolita aesthetic. Out of all of the umbrellas I looked at so far, this is my favorite! I love the triple frills and the large rounded shape. It looks like it would be very practical as well as beautiful in a coord!

Although to be honest, I don’t think I would be too picky about an umbrella. If I see an umbrella (or a parasol) that is similar but not exactly the same, and if it is within my budget, I will probably purchase it in a heartbeat. I prefer the deep and rounded shape of this umbrella, but these umbrellas would be wonderful to own too!

“The most un-Lolita thing about me is…”

Image

Let’s see… There are quite a few un-Lolita things about me. For instance, the way I dress outside of Lolita… When I’m not wearing Lolita (which right now is most of the time, unfortunately), I’m usually wearing jeans (either skinny jeans or flared jeans) and a t-shirt. Usually with a sweatshirt on top, and if it’s cold, my poofy raspberry-red winter jacket. I also do not wear makeup unless I’m cosplaying or dressing in Lolita. Sometimes I dress in Lolita and skip the makeup because I’m feeling lazy. (Like today… I’m wearing zero makeup and I’m in a simple Lolita coord.) For shoes, I’m wearing sport sneakers 90% of the time because I have a foot problem (really flat feet and weak joints due to a genetic syndrome I was born with, so I need to wear orthotics everyday and occasionally I need to wear ankle braces). I also don’t really style my hair every day. I hastily comb and brush it, and sometimes if I have a bit of time to spare, I’ll clip a little bow in it or tie it back in a ponytail, but I don’t spend too much time with my hair. Maybe that’s why I love wearing wigs for Lolita? I’m not too fond of my real hair. I sometimes have good hair days, but those are rare!

I guess another un-Lolita thing about me that my friend pointed out is how much I love horror movies and gory writing. But I feel like this might fit into the realm of Guro Lolita very nicely~! >w< So in conclusion, the most un-Lolita thing about me is how I dress outside of Lolita.

To be honest, there are some things very Lolita-esque about me too: my undying love for desserts and sweets, my love for bows (all kinds of bows!), and my conservative style of normal dress (no cleavage, I wear leggings/tights if I’m wearing a non-Lolita skirt/dress, I only wear tank tops for exercise sometimes, but I usually wear a t-shirt).

I really hope to wear Lolita more often. For now, I’ll continue my goal of dressing in Lolita at least once a week. Thank you for reading!

Little Post about a Great Meet-up (and my favorite JSK!)

On Sunday, April 14, I attended a meet-up in Boston that was co-hosted by two amazing Lolitas, Scarlet and Ashley. 🙂 It was a fun and casual Newbury Street Stroll, and all the attendees were dressed up in pretty frills! We had a great mix of coordinates. We ate a late lunch at a sushi restaurant, walked along Newbury Street, drank delicious hot chocolate (and ate some yummy chocolate too), did some shopping, and took photos!

I attempted to dress up in Hime-Lolita style. ^-^ This is the coordinate that I wore to the meet-up:

It features an Innocent World dress (the only brand item that I’ve purchased directly from the brand website) – the Bertille Rose JSK in the Bordeaux colorway. I adore this dress and I think it looks very princess-like! I purchased this dress during the Winter Sale. (And Scarlet purchased her IW JSK during the Winter Sale too! I gave her the JSK when I saw her at the beginning of the meet, and she changed into it. It suits her so well!)

I paired this JSK with an offbrand blouse (something I found in a local thrift store), offbrand socks, white tea parties, vintage jewelry, and a hime crown. This JSK is my favorite dress I own at the moment. ❤ I love the feel of the fabric, I love the comfortable back shirring, and I love the rose and ribbon print! The lace is absolutely gorgeous too… And I love the Bordeaux colorway.

Here are some group photos from the meet-up:

And a silly pic:

Another group photo (those machines in the background were epic <3):

As we walked down the street, we saw a sign that said “Lolita” and… we just had to snap another group photograph!

Ashley also snapped a cute candid shot! I had no idea she took this photo until I looked through her Facebook album today and spotted this candid picture:

It was pretty chilly that day too… so most of the time, I had a coat on. I wore my (only) Lolita-styled coat though! 😀

All of the above photographs were taken by Ashley (HarmonyCloud).

Prior to this meet-up, when I finally decided to try on my new IW JSK, I asked one of my friends to snap some photos of me. It was not an official photoshoot, but it was a fun little mini-shoot (and we got some good photos)!

Here is a light-hearted photo of me hugging the grandfather clock in my dorm house living room:

Image

I love grandfather clocks so much. ❤ I actually love clocks in general. Actually, I’m sitting at he table right next to this clock as I am typing these very words. If I’m doing homework in my house or taking a study break in my house, I love sitting in the living room next to this clock.

Here’s a photograph that shows off the Bertille Rose JSK very nicely:Image

Just look at those frills. >w<

That is all for now!

I will try to blog more consistently this summer. Right now I’m in the last stretch of classes (two more weeks of classes, then finals week…), so I am really busy at the moment. But once summer comes, I’ll definitely try my best to be more active in the Lolita Blog Carnival as well as making more posts about Lolita Fashion and my coordinates.

(Also, sorry about this very photo-heavy post!)
