No Time for Creativity: Review

Despite the name of the shop, Kathryn (the shop-owner), has a lot of creativity! If she has no time for creativity, I have no idea how she does all this. She’s a talented crafter  who makes so many different things. Check out No Time for Creativity for animal ears, PeanutPalz, hats, headbands, bows, ornaments, and more! Feel free to use the coupon code LOLITASTYLES2015 for 10% off order of $10 or more. Keep in mind that this coupon expires on December 31, 2015. DSC_0071 Kathryn shipped out the lot of amazing products in a sturdy cardboard box to guarantee protection: DSC_0027_Fotor_Collage As you can see in the above collage, the inside of the box was filled with protective foam pieces. No items were damaged during the shipping process. DSC_0029 The hats were the only items unwrapped. All the other accessories were wrapped in cute tissue paper! I was very pleased with the packaging. Here is everything unwrapped: DSC_0036 Isn’t this an awesome batch of items? No Time for Creativity sent two mini tricorn hats, one jumbo hair bow (black and pink tartan), one heart-ear headband, one cat-ear headband, two sets of bows (green tartan and red tartan), one cute little PeanutPal, and one black gothic headdress with red rose accents. You can find more PeanutPalz on No Time for Creativity‘s shop; there are so many different characters available! They are also at affordable prices, so your wallet won’t hurt. All of the accessories are super cute and affordable as well! DSC_0065 Unfortunately, I did not have the time to model all of these items. I tried my best to show off a variety of the No Time for Creativity products though, and I hope you enjoy this review nevertheless. I plan to model all the products in the future, but I was short on time since I had to move abroad for the semester. During the summer or the fall, I will definitely try to post more photos, so I hope you will continue to follow my blog. peaceFirst, take a look at these adorable red cat ears! I love stylized accessories, and this cute headband looks like cat ears, but in a unique aesthetic. The ears are full of lace, and there’s a cute bow and dangling charm on one ear. In addition, beads decorate this headband. The headband is in red too… my all-time favorite color!

BeautyPlus_20150206170248_save

I love how creative this headband is! I’ve never thought about using hearts as the ears of a headband. This headband would be so perfect for a Valentine’s Day coordinate! The hearts are filled with lace, just as the cat ears are. The blue and pink bow is a delightful touch~! I think this whimsical headband would work well for both OTT sweet lolita and fairy kei.

focal Cute jumbo bows are my life… Seriously, I developed a love for over-sized bows when I first got into lolita fashion. I think this bow is adorable and could be easily used for lolita coordinates or for gyaru coordinates (or even just for fun if you’re wearing anything cute and/or dressy)! As you can see in the above photo, the bow’s width is basically the same as my head! It’s huge, and stands out. DSC_0101 All eyes will be on you if you wear this gorgeous bow~! The bow has a French clip backing, which is one of my favorite types of clips! It is easy to clip into thick hair and wigs. The double strings of faux pearls are a lovely touch. BeautyPlus_20150217203544_saveAs some of you may know, one of my all-time favorite patterns is red tartan! I just love the way it looks. No Time for Creativity sent me a pair of adorable red tartan bows that I decided to use for a casual closet cosplay of Igiko (Nyotalia England from Hetalia). They were the perfect touch to the pigtails~! What do you think of this closet cosplay? bowWhen I received this package from No Time for Creativity, the first thing I tried on was this pair of blue/green plaid bows. These little bows were a surprising find, but it worked out well because I have a shirt that is blue/green plaid. (I actually picked up this shirt for free forever ago at a yard sale… xD) barrettes In any case, the bow and the shirt matched well and I am pleased with this casual-cute look. The dangling beads add to the whimsical cuteness of these bows! gothic My favorite piece of all is probably this beautiful headdress. Black x Red is my favorite color combination, and I love how the headdress looks with the elegant black veil and dramatic splash of red roses. The headdress has a clip on the back, so it attaches very easily. It stays put too; I never had a problem with this accessory shifting about. This gothic accessory is perfect for a gothic lolita coordinate (especially a black/red one)! You may recognize this headdress from my blog post about Penny Dreads’ Miss Tea wig and my blog post about the Amethyst Ways necklace. The coat I am wearing in this photo is from Putumayo, and it was a lucky find from Lacemarket.

MapleLens: Princess Mimi Apple Green Circle Lenses

beautypluss

MapleLens sponsored me this lovely pair of contact lenses. It came in my prescription, which is great, since I am very near-sighted. With these lenses, I could see clearly!

Here is how MapleLens packaged the circle lenses:

They shipped it out in a FedEx bubble mailer. The package was not ripped or damaged from the shipping process. Inside the mailer, MapleLens packaged the lenses and free lens case inside an additional bubble wrap for added protection. The lenses were also nestled inside a white box. They took many precautions to ensure the safe delivery of their product. The lens case is super cute too!

Checking the vials for the circle lenses, I confirmed that these are authentic circle lenses. They are not bootlegs! So these are definitely safe to use. MapleLens also included instructions for their circle lenses, which not many circle lens providers do. I think all circle lens providers should ship out instructions with their lenses to remind users of safety precautions!

Remember that you should always see an eye doctor before deciding whether or not contact lenses are right for you! I used to only wear glasses until I saw an eye doctor for a contact lens fitting. Also, when you use circle lenses, you need to take good care of them to ensure safety for your eyes. Make sure you clean your lenses well and use an appropriate contact lens solution. And this is very important: make sure your hands are clean when you handle your contact lenses!

For this sponsored review, I wore these lenses twice. Each time, I wore the lenses for a full day so I can accurately review the comfort of the lenses. The first time I wore these circle lenses was for my lolita coordinate. You may recognize this coord from my last review for TeaCupCastle. These green circle lenses give wonderful enlargement and vibrant color without it looking too fake. The green is not a neon green but a rich deep forest green. The lenses have different colored tones, such as a bit of yellow at the inner ring, which adds lovely depth to the eyes. In my opinion, the lenses’ design is very aesthetically pleasing! I love the solid black edge with the scalloped inner edge. The clear opening in the center of the lenses is large enough so I cannot see the lenses’ colored parts at all when I look around, even if I glance to my extreme right or extreme left. My vision always remains crisp and clear!

The second time I wore these circle lenses was for a local Homestuck cosplay meetup. I cosplayed the genderbent version of Jake English, which I haven’t cosplayed in years! I am so happy to revamp this cosplay and bring it back.

Last time I cosplayed Jake, I used my real hair… but since I chopped my hair short and dyed it over the summer, I can’t use my real hair for Jake (or for Jade either) anymore. I hastily trimmed and styled a plain black wig for this cosplay, and I like how it turned out! I might use this wig for Jade Harley in the future too. I know I’ll definitely use these lovely Apple Green circle lenses for Jade as well as for Jake!

A French Lolita Tea Party

Since Miss Milly and I met in July (during my first time studying abroad), we have become pretty close friends even though we only knew each other for a short period of time. I was thrilled to meet another French Lolita! Besides Miss Milly, I also met a few other lovely Lolitas during my time studying in Paris, France. Miss Milly was kind enough to invite me over for a sleepover, and we had fun looking at manga, flipping through Lolita magazines, watching Kamikaze Girls, and painting our nails! We even spent time browsing through the wonderful items on Taobao. I also had the amazing experience of an authentic French dinner with Miss Milly’s family and family friends. In the morning after the sleepover, Miss Milly and I cooked and baked and set up a delicious and delightful tea party (for two)!

Here I am, making pancakes!

Look at all the food… ❤

I am really happy I had the chance to have a Lolita Tea Party with Miss Milly. This was a wonderful experience that I know I will remember far into the future! Image After the tea party, we took a walk to the local riding club. There were so many beautiful horses at the stables! ❤ I even got to see an adorable shetland pony, a llama (with totally crooked teeth), and an energetic goat!

Isn’t this horse beautiful?

We even had the chance to imitate Momoko from Kamikaze Girls! After all, it was not too long before we came across animal dung… (Ewww…. We do not approve. But it was a great photo opportunity! >w<) ImageImage Miss Milly is an amazing person, and you should totally check out her blog! The dress she is wearing in these photos is a dress that she made herself. She is truly a talented person! (She is also a cosplayer, and a lover of other Japanese street fashions such as Fairy Kei.) Update: I now have a Facebook page! Feel free to like the page if you want to stay in touch with me outside WordPress.
