[Review] Dr. Jart+ BB Creams

Hi everyone! Today, I’m going to review four BB creams from Dr. Jart+. I’ve been using these BB creams for the past month, and it’s my first time trying products from this company.

Here is a quick review that encompasses all of the BB creams in this sampler set:

~ Pros ~

Packaging: I like how they all have the same tube packaging, and the different colors make it easy to find the BB cream I’m looking for. The label is easy to read.
I like the consistency of all these BB creams! They’re not too thick but they’re not watery either. It’s a light cream that is easy to blend.
Decent light coverage.
Non-irritating. None of these BB creams caused a negative reaction in my skin.

~ Cons ~

None that encompass all of the BB creams, but there are some things I dislike for specific ones.

Dr. Jart+ Dis-a-Pore

Description from Dr. Jart+’s US website:

Pros

Easy to blend
Evens skin tone (both color and texture)

Cons

Can’t think of any outright cons, but it doesn’t feel like a perfect fit for my skin. I think the color is off, but I still love this product!

Dr. Jart+ Black Label Detox

Description from Dr. Jart+’s US website:

Pros

Matches my skin tone
Easy to blend
Evens out my skin tone (my acne is less noticeable since the BB cream covers up the redness, but the bumps are still visible)

Cons

My skin is slightly sticky to the touch after application.

Other information

This BB cream has a slightly dewy finish, but it’s not shiny. I usually prefer matte, but I’m okay with this level of dewiness.

Dr. Jart+ Premium

Description from Dr. Jart+’s US website:

A one-step balm that perfects the appearance of skin while protecting it from the sun and environmental factors.

Pros

Easy to blend
Highest SPF

Cons

Has an unpleasant smell (it reminds me of stale chips…)
Doesn’t cover up my red spots (from irritated acne)

Dr. Jart+ Radiance

Description from Dr. Jart+’s US website:

– Next generation, multifunctional formula for radiance, brightening, hydrating, and firming benefits
– Features SPF 30 sun protection

Pros

Relatively easy to blend (more difficult than the other ones for me)
Absorbs into skin quickly
Hides redness
Buildable coverage

Cons

Accentuates dry spots on my skin unless I apply multiple layers
Slightly dewy finish that looks shiny even in natural light (more dewy than the Black Label Detox one)

Conclusion

Overall, I like all of these BB creams. My favorite is the Dis-a-Pore one, and my least favorite one is the Premium one. I will definitely finish using all of these products because I never want to waste anything. Would I repurchase this? I won’t be repurchasing this sampler set since I’ve already given each BB cream in this set a try. I might purchase a full size tube of the Dis-a-Pore BB cream someday, but I don’t think I will for a long time. I still want to find the perfect BB cream for my skin, so the next BB cream I purchase will be a different one to try. Even though I do like the Dis-a-Pore BB cream a lot, it’s still not a perfect fit for my skin.

[Review] Barbie Angel Grey Lenses

I wore these lenses for a photoshoot with Studio du Petit Oiseau. They were comfortable to wear all day, regardless of location (in a car, up the mountain, in the grass…).

Even from a distance, the gray color shows up on my eyes! My favorite part of these lenses is their comfort. I wore them for a recent K-Pop dance performance, and they did not irritate my eyes even when I was dancing and sweating.

I don’t wear these lenses for cosplay, but if you cosplay someone with gray-colored eyes, this would be a great fit for you! I wear these lenses for fashion and fun, and they have never caused any issues. Remember: If you use circle lenses, be sure to take proper care of them.

Overall: ☆☆☆☆☆

Packaging: ☆☆☆☆☆ I’ve never had an issue with UNIQSO’s packaging before! Feel free to look at some of my previous UNIQSO reviews to see how they package their circle lenses. They have consistent packaging, and this time, it was no different.

Style: ☆☆☆☆☆ I love the design of these lenses! These lenses have amazing enlargement… The black limbal ring really helps define your eyes. The opening in the center of the lenses is large, so your vision won’t be obscured.

Color: ☆☆☆☆☆ The gray is just as I wanted it to be! It’s a deep gray that would be flattering for anyone.

Comfort: ☆☆☆☆☆ These are so comfy! I think these are my comfiest lenses of this diameter yet! Sometimes I forget I’m wearing lenses because I can hardly feel them.

[Review] Laneige BB Cushion

Hi, everyone! It’s now 2016, and I hope you all had a happy New Year. ❤ This year, I hope to blog more often. There are some new changes to my blog, such as my new banner and some new ideas. I decided to use brackets for each title showing which category the post belongs to. Do you like the idea of using brackets for my titles? I also will try to watermark my photos from now on. Now, I’ll start the review for the Laneige BB Cushion.

Here is the description for this BB Cushion from Target’s website:

I actually bought this (along with another Laneige product) a year ago but somehow forgot about it until now. I was shocked when I saw Laneige products at Target, and when I bought this, there was a sale going on so I got a free product. I paid for the Laneige BB Cushion, and got a cleanser for free (which I will review later!).

~ Pros ~

Fantastic packaging
Easy to apply

The BB Cushion comes with a refill, which is great! I’m not sure how long this will last, but I’ve been using the product for a week now and you do not need to use much to cover your face.

The design is so sleek and sophisticated! I love this packaging. This is the second BB Cushion I’ve tried; the first one I tried was the Ossion Secret Total Cushion, but I wasn’t satisfied with that one since it was way too light for my skin tone. The packaging of the Laneige one also looks nicer than the Ossion one (which is ironic since the Ossion one was ridiculously expensive).

The Laneige cushion comes with this lovely dark blue applicator sponge! It sits on a tray that separates it from the product. There’s also a handy-dandy mirror! This mirror is so nice… It’s way better than my current compact mirror.

Ah yes, that feeling when you remove the film from the product… There’s no turning back!

The air cushion has tiny little holes to enable product distribution. I haven’t had any issues with getting excess product; when I press down with the applicator sponge, only a little bit of product comes out at a time. This is ideal since if I need more product, it’s easy to press again and continue.

I tried the product on my arm first, and was disappointed by the shininess. Do you see that shimmery spot on my skin? That’s the BB cream. I hoped it would be less shiny on my face, and it wasn’t too bad. This BB cream would be fine for daily wear since it gives a light coverage. It doesn’t cover up much, but evens out the skin tone. Sadly, my pores still look huge with this product. I was also hoping this BB cream would be matte, but it’s not. There was no mention of shimmer or shine in the product description, but oh well! I’ll still use this product up.

Here’s a close-up photo of me wearing no makeup except for the Laneige BB Cushion:

As you can see, the product doesn’t do anything for my giant pores. It does even my skin tone though, so my acne scars (and that chicken pox scar from forever ago) blend into the rest of my skin. The color of this BB cream is lighter than my skin tone, but it’s not as light as the Ossion one.

I don’t think I will repurchase this, since I would rather find a matte BB cushion. I will try to use this daily and see if it offers any skincare benefits. If so, I’ll write about it!
