K-Beauty Products from YesStyle: Skincare Edition

In today’s post, I’m going to go over my favorite K-Beauty skincare products from YesStyle. These are all products I’ve used and absolutely love! FRUDIA – Pomegranate Nutri-Moisturizing Serum – This is the most recent addition to my skincare routine. It’s a great serum to add additional moisture to your skin! This is great for the winter months. You can read my full review of this product in my Instagram post here.

NEOGEN – Dermalogy Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling Wine – I’ve been using this product for about 2 years now, and I love it! It’s a gentle gauze that you can use for a gentle at-home peel. I’ve never tried a peeling facial at a professional salon, so I’m not sure how this compares to a professional facial, but it works great for my sensitive combination skin. I’ve never found any irritation. The gauze also is 2-sided so you can choose which side you want to use (or you can use both!). So easy to use and it’s super fast so you can do it even when you’re short on time.

BANILA CO – Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Original – This is my favorite cleansing balm product! It’s creamy and gentle, and it even removes stubborn waterproof eye makeup. It hasn’t irritated my eyes like some other makeup removing products. Highly recommend using this as a first step of cleansing, and then using your face wash or cleanser of choice as a second step at night.

LANEIGE – Water Sleeping Mask – This is my favorite sleeping mask and I use it every winter! I’m currently using their lavender version, which one of my friends gave me as a birthday present. This is the original version, which I used last winter. You apply this mask as the last step of skincare at night, and it doesn’t feel like a mask — it feels more like a moisturizer. It absorbs quickly into the skin and it doesn’t get messy; you don’t have to worry about the mask getting on your pillow when you sleep. In the morning, you wash your face with water and you’re done!

MAY COOP – Raw Sauce – I sometimes try other toners, but this is one of my all-time favorites! I love that it’s a combo toner, emulsion, and essence. It’s literally 3 steps of the Korean skincare routine combined into 1 step! Perfect for busy days where you just want to use this and your moisturizer and you’re done.

COSRX – Acne Pimple Master Patch Set – Whenever I see acne popping up, I stick one of these patches on and it’s gone the next day or within two days (I use the patches at night). So convenient! It’s also great for travel since you can bring one of these with you without any issue in your carry-on bag. The patches are basically round stickers and you stick one on top of the acne.

NEOGEN – Dermalogy Real Fresh Foam Green Tea – This is my favorite cleanser! I’ve been trying lots of different cleansers, but I want to go back to this one. It’s a gentle foaming cleanser that makes your skin feel fresh! I love that there’s real green tea leaves in the bottle. Such a cool touch! The foaming dispenser works fantastic as well and always gives you the perfect amount to cleanse your whole face with just one pump.

THE FACE SHOP – Real Nature Face Mask – One of my favorite sheet masks! The Face Shop Real Nature series has so many options. My personal favorites are the aloe, green tea, honey, lotus, rice, and tea tree masks. They’re so easy to use — just open them up, put one on your face after your toner, leave on for 10-15 minutes, and then remove and pat the remaining essence into your skin. Be sure to save the packets too — there’s always extra essence in there which I use on my neck and arms.

COSRX – Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence – This essence is an affordable product featuring luxury ingredients. It absorbs quickly into the skin, and is safe for sensitive skin (it’s fragrance-free and doesn’t contain any paraben, artificial color, and other unsafe ingredients. There’s 96%. concentration of snail mucus extract in it.

Dear Klairs Gentle Black Fresh Cleansing Oil – This is my first step of cleansing! It removes any makeup I have on. This is a daily step, every night.

2. Dear Klairs Gentle Black Facial Cleanser – This is my second step of cleansing. I do this as my last step when I shower. It is super gentle, no scent, and feels like it cleans my face well without any irritation. This is a daily step, every night.

3. Dear Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish – This is my third step of cleansing, but is not a daily step. I’ve been doing this two times a week for a deeper cleanse. It’s gentle and non-irritating.

4. I’m from Honey Mask – This is the only mask in this skincare routine, but is not a daily step. I did this once a week and it definitely feels deeply moisturizing. It smells just like real honey!

5. elmt Gentle Exfoliating Solution – This is the toner step in my skincare routine. It’s a super gentle exfoliant and didn’t irritate my skin at all. It has no scent. This is a daily step, morning and night.

6. By Wishtrend Hydra Enriched Ampoule – This step adds extra hydration. The dropper bottle is great, and a few drops go a long way! This is a daily step, morning and night.

7. Rovectin Clean Lotus Water Cream – This cream is very lightweight! I believe that this cream would be a great fit for oily skin too, and I even recommended this to my mom who has acne-prone skine. The cream is moisturizing without being heavy, and there’s no fragrance. This will be suitable for people with sensitive skin too. This is a daily step, morning and night.

I’d also like to note that I use an eye cream every night, but since there was no eye cream in this box, I continued to use the eye cream I’ve been using previously (not a Korean brand).

Emptyland: Summer Edition

I’m calling this my Summer Edition of Emptyland because it covers all my empties from June, July, and August. To be honest, I’ve been lazy with skincare over the summer because I just moved, I had some tough times times with my chronic illnesses, and was generally short on time and sleep. And yet again, a very late Empties post; this series should be called Alice in LATE-land, haha.

I’m definitely trying to take better care of my skin now, and not skipping my skincare routine steps!

Instead of listing out every single product and rating each one, I’ll divide them into categories and highlight my favorites and point out if there’s something I’m tossing without finishing. Ratings will still be provided for samples and whether or not they will be purchased. This is in the interest of time, and also my own personal preference. I am keeping track of what I’m using up to hold myself accountable to actually using up products before opening up new items (and to halt my terrible habit of hoarding products forever).

Skincare

During a Buy One, Get One Free sale at the Saem store, I bought a bunch of products from their Urban Eco line. I love these products so far! The only thing I disliked was the cheap packaging; my toner bottle cap broke when I was only half way through the bottle (and I never dropped it).

In addition to these Urban Eco products, a calendula product from The Face Shop and my first Boscia product made their way to my Emptyland.

Above, you’ll see all the makeup wipes/cleansing wipes that I used up. These are all repeats since I’ve repurchased both of these products before. They don’t remove eye makeup that well, so I use both of these as daily cleansing wipes before I shower, and to remove BB cream or tinted moisturizer.

And of course, I need to group my lip care empties together! My mom gave me those Chapsticks a year or so ago, and I finally used them. They give average moisture; it was fine during the summer, but I don’t think they would hold up well in the winter when my skin is so much drier. The Blistex lip serum was a decent product, but I don’t think I’d ever re-purchase because I didn’t notice any significant benefits.

I didn’t use sheet masks as much as I usually do since I started trying sheet masks… I do want to use them more often, but it’s already November now and I can tell already that I’m barely using sheet masks as it is. I think part of the issue is time: I feel like I never have enough time. I’ve been using sleeping masks more often because I can apply them after my moisturizer at night, and wash my face in the morning.

And of course, you see my one empty packet of the Acne Pimple Master Patch from Cosrx. Love it!

Bodycare

For body care, a highlight is the Dove shower foam: I love the feel of this foam, and you don’t need a pouf or sponge! Also, Aveeno is a great body lotion.

Haircare

For haircare, I wasn’t a big fan of the Garnier Whole Blends leave-in conditioner. I used it up, but it didn’t do much for my hair pre-bleaching or post-bleaching.

For the Aprilskin Turn-Up Color Treatment: I thought it worked great for replenishing the pink in my hair color, but it was expensive (over $10 for a tube that only lasts 1.5 applications). It’s also not a dye, so it washes out. If you have longer hair, one tube may not even be enough for you to apply for your whole head. The second time I applied it, there was only enough for me to apply around my roots.

And the only empties from my samples are the Caudalie La Crème Yeux and the Dr. Jart Dis-a-pore BB cream. I didn’t finish the Dr. Brandt PoreDermabrasion product because it irritated my skin. It’s so hard to find an exfoliator that doesn’t irritate my skin… If anyone has recommendations, let me know!

Also, that BB Cream really needed to be tossed because I’ve had it since THIS POST from 2016. Took me forever to finish it since I was using other BB cream products too. Oops.
