Personal Lolita Goals For 2015

Join the Lolita Blog Carnival more often! I feel like I did not write that many posts this year because I’ve been so busy with academics.
And this point relates to the previous one: Blog more on WordPress in general. I feel like my posts lately have only been either review posts or Lolita Blog Carnival posts. I hope I can blog more, without the need for prompts. Maybe I can write more about my personal thoughts or blog about events I attend! I also want to expand my reviews. Maybe I’ll review makeup products! If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.
Take more photos of casual coordinates! I rarely take photos of my casual lolita coords. I want to show that I do wear lolita casually sometimes, and in these cases, I don’t wear makeup (or I just wear minimal makeup) and I don’t wear wigs. I don’t really style my hair, and honestly, I never did even when I had long hair. I have to admit: I’m lazy when it comes to my real hair! I usually wear a hair accessory when I wear casual lolita, even if it’s just a small bow or a cute barrette.
Take some lolita fashion risks. I really want to try punk lolita, for example. I am scared to try, but I want to go ahead and do it at some point! I also want to take more lolita risks in styles I already wear. Maybe wear a winter scarf and winter gloves with a coordinate. Or layer on different sweaters for a Mori-inspired lolita look.
Make videos for YouTube. I have a YouTube channel, but there are only two videos on there at the moment. And they are both a year old. …So I should really try to upload new videos. Maybe I can make a wardrobe video post? Or show off details from some favorite lolita pieces? We’ll see.

LBC: Winter Lolita Look

This week’s theme is a Winter Lolita Look! I wish I had more time to wear lolita, but I’ve been super busy with academics. I will share my look for my very first International Lolita Day Meetup! The winter ILD meetup in Boston was a lot of fun. ^_^ I went with a friend from my local community who was kind enough to give me a ride there.

It was super cold, but I was wearing an underskirt, my favorite multi-layered petticoat, tights, knee socks, and fleece bloomers. While traveling, I also wore my poofy (non-lolita, and I think it’s ugly, but it is super warm and New England-friendly) jacket and leg warmers. I also wore my winter boots because the weather was terrible, and I changed into my nice shoes when we arrived in Boston.

For my winter looks, I love wearing wigs because they actually do keep my head very warm. It’s like wearing a winter hat, but better! I also love layering up things, so it’s great that I can wear warm tights under my socks.

As for winter lolita looks in the future, I would love to wear a warm and fancy fur cape! And maybe a winter hat that works for lolita? I did do this look with a warm winter hat before:

I love this winter hat! It’s a vintage item I found in a thrift shop. I pinned a matching navy flower to it! (And I’m wearing a wig under the hat for extra warmth. That’s the same exact wig I wore for ILD, in fact… What a coincidence!)

LemonyLemon: Rings

LemonyLemon, an Etsy store run by Emma Lehmann, was kind enough to sponsor a batch of adorable rings!

Emma mailed me a package via International AirMail. This bubble mailer kept all the rings safe during their international travel!

I was very pleased with the care Emma took to wrap her products. Each individual ring was wrapped in tissue paper. This is the first time I have seen someone do this! Nothing came damaged.

These rings are so colorful and each piece is unique! The pastel rings would be perfect for sweet lolita and fairy kei, and the gold rose ring would be lovely for gothic lolita and classic lolita. I love the details on the cookie rings! These rings would also look super cute with casual wear.

Now, onto how I styled these rings… I chose a few pastel rings to wear with a sweet lolita coordinate.

The pastel rings, especially the sweets rings, match the OTT sweet lolita aesthetic so well~! I really love the rings’ combination of pastel colors and bold colors. The pink bow ring has a really cute purple detailed band that makes it stand out. I think that one is one of my favorite rings!

All of the rings are adjustable, which is great. You can bend the bands to fit your fingers. My fibers are really skinny, so unfortunately, most of the rings were loose. They fit on my thumbs, but I don’t like wearing rings on my thumbs. Wearing them on my other fingers was fine; I just had to be careful. If I waved my hand too enthusiastically, the rings would fly off. But these rings are really sturdy! When the rings fell off and hit the ground, they didn’t break.

I am really impressed by how well-crafted these rings are. I was really scared that they would break after smashing into the ground, but everything was in tact and the band was easy to bend back into a circle.

I used the gold rose ring as part of my Saturday coordinate for RuffleCon:

I already had a black rose ring from Forever21, so the gold rose ring was a lovely addition to my coord. I love the cute band on this gold ring!~ It’s in the same style as the pink bow ring.

Today, I decided to wear the remaining three LemonyLemon rings that I had not used in a coordinate yet. Instead of lolita fashion, I decided to try something different! I wanted something fun and more casual, but still cute. I also tried something new with my makeup.

There’s not really an interesting back-story unfortunately, I started off doing nails as a hobby and people really liked them so I started up an Etsy store, which then eventually led to making clay charms, hair accessories, and some deco-den type of items. Things are just a tad slow at the moment due to my personal life, but I’m hoping to get more time in the near future to make more items and refurbish my store (ie. New logo and such).”
